Rookie

(and Miami)

 This is probably my favorite picture form the abandoned stadium we went to before the meetup!

My friend Marina, her boyfriend and I road tripped to Miami recently! We did this mainly for the reader started and put together Rookie meetup. It was an incredible trip! Our first stop was my first reword for my  hours of research into abandoned places (Which I really really love). This jewel was perfect for photos and just general sight seeing, it was totally covered in graffiti(as you can see) but in real life it is ever more impressive honestly.

Then later that day we went to a really weird downtown Starbucks(everyone thought we looked silly in our dresses) and then to the meetup! I will eventually share a picture of the cute flower crown I made at the meetup and well Marina and her boyfriend made that hell of a cute balloon friend you see there. After that we went to sweat records, a vegan cafe/record store. That is where that cool eyeball mural is! I had a weird cheesecake(sort of cheesecake?) and bought a Neutral Milk Hotel record. I mean fucking On Avery Island, how could I not buy it?

I have been waiting for these to come in the mail for so long and the other day they finally got here! I was so thrilled. I also redyed my hair with my last little tad of blue dye (sadly.. no more blue after this). 

Over all things are pretty well, nothing super crazy. I start college on Tuesday and I am currently working on a painting that I am very fond of! Plenty of photo shoot plans as well! for my art stuff you can check out Ollieverse on Tumblr or facebook and http://maybemisako.deviantart.com/

I think I may have finally discovered where I got the lovely crystal necklace shown, MOSI! Yep, the museum of science and industry gift shop has some, almost the same. I think when I was younger I might have gotten it there.

Also, I go to Miami on Saturday for the Rookie meetup! It will be so lovely and I will take and post PLENTY of photos.

Also, I have been researching abandoned theme parks for the last few weeks, I am really into it. The song of the day sort of reminds me of carnivals(for no real good reason) Hope you enjoy it.

Lovely sunlight and a broken tripod.

Ok, this post too a lot of effort. I did some of the pictures one day and some on another day. My tripod is broken, which makes it lower to the ground and that makes me look sort of horrible in these but oh well. This outfit (minus the jacket) is something I wear all the time, I am surprised I haven't posted about it yet! 

Now onto my favorite part of this and the only reason I put so much effort into a single post, the jacket! I got the idea from Rookiemag. They constantly have these great collage jackets in their little photo sets and I love them so much. I decided to use a thrift store jacket and old shirts to make my own version of those super rad jackets. I really like the way it came out honestly! I am planning to add a couple other things to it but after the time it took to hand sew on all those patches I wanted a break haha.

I might just exist.

Ok I am soooo sorry for how long it has been since my last post! But I am back and should be posting more.

Well as you could suspect I changed my hair color, normal stuff really. Well I used a different dye actually, I tried the Ion brights series. It works much better then the other brands I have tried! I really love it. Also, the purple was not 100% out when I dyed it so it is a dark purple at the roots.

It may not be easy to see but the mint skull matches my clothes, isn't that fancy?
